New, Friendlier Packaging Launched

22 September 2020

As all innovative companies should, we are continually looking for efficiencies when it comes to our business processes. But, we are also very aware of the impact we have on factors associated with climate change and regularly look to implement changes we can make to reduce our footprint.

Over recent years, as the quantities of the products we manufacture have increased, so has our overall use of packaging, specifically plastic. This impact has led our design team to re-think the way we store and despatch our products in a more environmentally mindful way.

As part of this, and following a rigorous design process during 2020, we have just launched a new range of packaging for our transducer range.

These new packs ensure the overall integrity of the instruments we produce, but use 91% less plastic by weight than our old packaging. In addition, the packaging is also 59% lighter, supporting a lower transportation footprint for shipping around the world.

Precision Acoustics Managing Director, Gary Livingstone, said:

All businesses should be looking at their impact on the environment, and we are no different. By creatively focusing on the need for a robust packaging solution to protect our products, the team has also managed to come up with a much lighter pack, ideal for our global customer base.

“As a business, we will continue to explore ways that we can improve in this area, balancing any impact objectively on quality requirements of the products we manufacture.”
