Dr. Paul Morris, our Principal Development Engineer, was recently invited to the National Instruments’ “NI Week 2018: Future Faster” Event in Austin, Texas, to present on the unique way we are using LabVIEW, a systems engineering software for applications that require test, measurement, and control with rapid access to hardware and data insights.
The presentation was a repeat of one given earlier this year at the Certified LabVIEW Architects (CLA) summit in Madrid. The CLA summit is a collaborative platform for ‘super-users’ to share ideas and learn new techniques and tools to improve software structure and integrity.
Pauls presentation – Lone Wolf to Dream Team: A Journey Into Team-Based Development – describes how transitioning from a single LabVIEW developer to a development team is not easy, yet when approached correctly, can lead to more robust code. In the presentation, he shares his experience of using tools like Hg-Flow, UTF, JIRA, and DQMH as well as the philosophies of OOP and TDD to build a team based development process.
