Development Team Boosted By New Software Engineer

13 April 2017

The Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) is a UK-wide initiative, active for over 40 years, the objective of which is to help businesses improve their competitiveness and productivity through the use of knowledge, technology and skills available in the UK knowledge base.

The partnership enables academics to collaborate with innovative organisations, such as Precision Acoustics, who require up-to-date research-based expertise to succeed.

Norman NichollsTogether with the University of Bournemouth, we have recently recruited Norman Nicholls as a Software Engineer. He will work on a joint project focused on the development of a new software platform to control acoustic and ultrasound measurement instrumentation.

Norman has a BSc in Physical Sciences and before joining Precision Acoustics had worked in the oil industry and at Imperial College London, where he developed software interfaces for instrumentation. This, coupled, with his scientific based knowledge of instrument product development, will be a most valuable asset to the team at Precision Acoustics.

During the project, Norman will also be able to study for and achieve a Masters In Research (MRes). This initiative by Precision Acoustics is another example of the continued investment by the company in product development and improving the skill sets of staff, all of which contribute to the continued growth of the business.
